Types of Trailers for Machine Tool Transport
Since inception in 1979, Machine Transport’s machine tool transportation service has met the needs of the manufacturing and machine tool production industries. Always dedicated to above-and-beyond service, and always working to come up with new and better shipping solutions to ensure faster and more timely delivery, our contracted motor carriers deliver heavy freight on time, treating all cargo as if it were their own.
Diverse Moving Options
Our contracted machine tool shippers utilize a number of innovative transportation methods to ensure low costs for our customers while staying in proper compliance with transportation laws.
We can transport your cargo using:
Flatbeds – for machinery and load heights of 8’10” to 9’4”, depending on state regulation.
Step deck – lower than a flatbed and ideal for taller equipment, accommodating loads of 10’2” to 10’8” in western states.
Lowboys/RGN – for heavy machinery on wheels that can be rolled into a trailer.
Double Drops – for extremely tall loads up to 12’, or up to 12’6” in western states.
Vans – ideal for smaller pallets and skids requiring the safeguarding of full enclosure.
This variety of trailer types ensures your machinery is hauled in compliance with all Federal and state ordinances, no matter the overall size and dimension. Machine Transport, Inc. is not a motor carrier or freight forwarder. We are a bonded freight broker licensed with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA).
